I’m in the market for a new desk chair. Preferably a swivel chair. But I want it to be beautiful as well as comfortable. So far, my research has consisted of trying every chair I see in all my usual favorite places to shop. But I need to be frugal about this purchase if I want to stay within budget. So far, these are the fancy desk chairs I’ve found on Amazon.com - my go-to when I’m not sure exactly what I want and need to see options of all kinds.

We all need a reminder sometimes, that not everything is as serious as we think. There are so many times in life when we think that a bit of bad luck is the end of the world. The truth is that every problem has a solution. And you can turn things around if you stay focused and just keep going. What’s important is to live a life you’re proud of. And don’t overthink the little things. I’m sending good vibes out into the world and hoping that you will do the same.

I've always loved fresh flowers, in any space. Flowers bring new life and energy. Whether it's a small accent or a dramatic scene, decorating with flowers will add to your room's budding style..

Black food is everywhere, and I’m loving it. Activated charcoal, the ingredient that creates this “super-black” hue, has made its way into ice creams that are as black as your cold, dark soul. On a super hot day like today, I’m headed to Little Damage in Downtown Los Angeles to get me some of that.

It brings me delight to see a home library every single time. I jump at the opportunity to be able to browse random books and wonder how many times each of those stories have brought joy to someone. It inspires me to create a library at home. All it would really take is will and a corner space. Everyone should discover the joys of serendipity that come from the discovery of a new book.

Palm-tree: single-legged giant,
topping other trees,
peering at the firmament –
It longs to pierce the black cloud-ceiling
and fly away, away,
if only it had wings.
The tree seems to express its wish
in the tossing of its head:
its fronds heave and swish –
It thinks, maybe my leaves are feathers,
and nothing stops me now
from rising on their flutter.
All day the fronds the windblown tree
soar and flap and shudder
as though it thinks it can fly,
As though it wanders in the skies,
travelling who knows where,
wheeling past the stars –
And then as soon as the wind dies down,
the fronds subside, subside:
the mind of the tree returns.
To earth, recalls that earth is its mother:
and then it likes once more
its earthly corner.
These palm frond printed sheets bring tropical coolness to this black bedroom, making it feel like a Gothic oasis and I love it so much.
The green and black is strong and modern. These colors just look good together. The rich greens in the bedding feels fresh against the black making the different shades of green all look crisp and eye catching. Note how the shades of green is sharply contrasted by the black geometric pattern on the floor.

I love the combination of black walls with wood furniture pieces. The tone of the wood adds warmth to the decor and helps create balance. I also love the way green plants just pop right off the black. It's a winning combination in my book.
Have you ever seen anything so luxurious? This tub is amazing. The velvety matte surface makes quite the architectural statement. I may be a bath kind of person after all.

I can always count on my friend DC for the best drink recipes. She’s famous for her Bloody Mary! today I’m sharing her blackberry margarita recipe. It’s delicious!
Ingredients
1.5 cup blackberries
2 tablespoons sugar
1/4 cup lime juice
5 ounces tequila
2 ounces triple sec
2 cups ice cubes
Blend the ingredients in the blender on CRUSH ICE. Rub the rims of glasses with a wedge of lime and dip in a dish of sugar. Pour in margarita and ENJOY!

i’m always on the lookout for ideas and inspiration for the future remodel. all of our current interior doors are painted black and lacquered. and i love them. but, we’ve been talking about doors with glass and maybe even metal doors with glass. then i came across this image on instagram (@metro_steel_windows): a wall of steel windows and steel doors designed and installed to perfection.
and now, the possibilities are endless.

The process of starting a bedroom revamp is always a bit daunting. The trick is to first understand what kind of feel or theme you want. Once you choose a style, like Bohemian, the decorative elements will just fall into place.
I’ve always loved Bohemian style bedrooms. But I also love black. So, of course my Bohemian bedroom would feature a layered look that incorporates different patterns, textures, and lots of black.

My favorite way to start the day is with a hot cup of coffee. And maybe a donut…or two. Lucky for me it's National Donut Day...not that I need an excuse!
Did you know National Donut day started in 1938? It started as a fundraiser for The Salvation Army of Chicago, IL. Their goal was to help those in need during the Great Depression.
These floral risers are amazing! Decorating the risers to make staircases look more interesting is a great idea. Patterns are great for creating one-of-a-kind designs. Just look at how beautiful this oversized floral design is. You can also do something interesting with paint and add a twist by creating an ombre design or pick a single color that matches the surrounding décor.
My niece has quite the green thumb but I still prefer to photograph beautiful plants in black and white. Did I mention sometimes I think I’m a photographer?
